I'm active, but don't consider myself an athlete - would I be a good fit for nutrition therapy and coaching?
YES! I define an athlete as someone who is active in their body on a regular basis. Some athletes are actively competing and others participate recreational. I'm qualified to support athletes of all levels. I want to empower active folks to embrace the identity of an athlete and understand that a positive relationship with food and body underscores their active lifestyle.
Who else is a good fit for nutrition therapy and coaching?
Someone who is:
Struggling with their relationship to food, body, and/or exercise
Training for a race and needs nutrition support
Chronically feeling tired and fatigued during and/or outside of activity
Looking for guidance on meal planning, grocery shopping, and cooking
Recovering from an eating disorder
Seeking a weight-neutral approach to support their active lifestyle
What does it mean to take a weight-neutral approach?
A weight-neutral approach means that our work together (whether nutrition, yoga, or both!) will focus on health and well-being vs. focusing on weight and body size. This doesn't mean we can't talk about your concerns, however the recommendations I make will be to align your eating and exercise patterns with your needs. We then trust your body to settle at a healthy weight for you.
What is an intuitive athlete?
The way I see it, an Intuitive Athlete is anyone who lives an active lifestyle - maybe they have goals/objectives, maybe not - and takes an intuitive approach to training, nutrition, and self-care.

I've never done yoga, but want to try it out. Do you have beginner class?
I offer and normalize modifications and breaks in every class I teach. While I currently do not have a specific beginner class (I'll be adding some soon!) all classes are welcome to beginners.

As a former D1 collegiate athlete, I had a lot to learn when it came to listening to my body & intuition rather than looking outside myself for answers. While working as a sports dietitian at the collegiate levels, this desire to learn how to connect with my body led me to dive deeper into my yoga practice & intuitive eating. Somewhat unexpectedly, I became a yoga instructor - first to simply deepen my own knowledge, but then to share this new approach with others. Through the fusion of my disciplines, I collaborate with my students & empower them to turn inward & listen to their intuition for guidance rather than prescribing a one-size-fits all plan.
I'm a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist specializing in performance nutrition with over 10 years of experience. I hold a bachelor's degree in Nutrition & Dietetics & a Master's degree in Sports Nutrition. I'm a 200 hr Registered Yoga Instructor & have been teaching since 2017. As the former Executive Director of Sports Nutrition for the University of Utah, I enjoy working with active individuals, those transitioning out of sport, &/or those seeking a better relationship with food, body, & exercise.
A former Michigander, I now call Salt Lake City home. When I'm not on my yoga mat, I love exploring the mountains via human-powered activities with my family & friends.
